Julia Soboleva is a newcomer England-based illustrator from Latvia. Basically Julia is working in a collage technique. The range of her influences includes such artists as Mark Ernst, Hannah Hoch, Egon Schiele, Marlen Dumas, Marc Chagall, Andrei Klimowski as well as film directors Andrei Tarkovsky, Ingmar Bergman, David Lynch and brothers Quay. In her works Julia is exploring the mysteries of unconscious, the worlds of dreams, dark sides of human nature. 'To be true with yourself' is a credo Julia tries to follow.
